- My initial reaction was that the story was about good people. Yes my impression changed because it was not all about good people but about people who steal other people’s body parts.
- I felt bad for her because she only had one leg and the guy also took her glasses and she did’nt see very well. She also had to get down the ladder which would not be possible for her since she had only one leg and didn’t see very well.
- Mrs. Freeman works for Mrs. Hopewell. Well Mrs. Hopewell is a very hopeful person and wishful and always trying to be polite to everyone. Mrs. Freeman works for Mrs. Hopewell which is not free. By Mrs. Hopewell’s daughter changing her name to Hulga suggests that she wants an ugly name and thinks that she is ugly.
- Mrs. Freeman and Mrs. Hopewell see people as being nice, they make positive observations about people, they See themselves as Wise since they old and also see themselves as Christians.
- Hulga learns that she is just like other people and after meeting the bible sales man she also learns that she might be a little different from other people but has a lot of similarities to other people.
- O’connor seem to admire Mrs. Freeman and satirizes Mrs. Hopewell and the bible seller.
- Christian values are evident in the story and O,Connor suggests that people should go with the values.
- Skip
- I was not able to find a satire. The characters were thinking too hard about themselves. The characters can be justified and satirized. I am not so sure about this question. I need help!

I chose the verse on Matthew chapter 6 :5-15 because it’s about the Lord’s prayer given to the disciples by Jesus. The theme is about teaching how to pray. I like this verse because Jesus tells us things that we should and should not do while praying. There are restrictions that go with the prayer and names given to those who violate the rules of prayer. Jesus warns us not to be hypocrites because hypocrites are not genuine they just want to show off that they know how to pray. Jesus lets us know no matter how we pray and where he already knows our needs and what we are going to say. He also warns us about being pagans and how we should not uses long meaningless words to pray him for if one uses small words and a short prayer our prayer will still be answered. Jesus also teaches us about the Lord’s Prayer that we should always pray in order to avoid hypocrisy and from being pagans. He gives us all the details that we need to ask from our Lord God who made heaven and earth. The prayer is short and has a whole lot of meaning words that we need to know. The prayer helps us be closer to God and it’s a great way to communicate with God. Jesus also let’s us know what God will do for us if we do the same for other people.
The other verse that I chose was from Matthew chapter 7 :7-12 because it’s a verse that re-assures us a lot of what we will get after we ask. Basically the verse is about asking your needs from the lord and seeking what you want from the lord. The Lord re-assures us that whenever we do that we will get what we want. He also lets us know that it is good to do for others what we would want them to do for us. I like this verse because it gives us re-assurance that we can ask and seek things from God that we want.

The recurring images are of books burning and it seems that something is causing the books to be destroyed like destroying some kind of information in those books that whoever is burning the books no longer want to exist. The cover that most seem recurring to me is the cover that has the book burning. The cover seems to tell a lot though it’s not always good to judge the book by it’s cover for their can be more just than the cover. All the other covers have at least books burning in some sort of way which I think is pretty interesting.

First of all, pilau is a dish from Kenya! It’s made of rice, spices, meat if you want and other stuff. One can make what ever amount one wants but for this case I get to chose the amount I want. To make pilau one needs the following ingredients
- One onion
- One tomato
- Ground cloves( powdered)
- One cup of white rice
- Cilantros( if one wants *optional)
- Oil
- Meat(*optional)
Steps:
- Wash all the ingredients that are washable.
- Chop the onion and put the onion in a deep cooking pan and put a little oil and start cooking.
- Cook the onions until they turn brown or almost brown and then put the meat.
- After the meat has cooked a little put the tomato and cilantros( chopped).
- Wait until the tomatoes have been fully cooked and at least the meat.
- After that, measure two cups of water and a little bit and mix the water with the things cooking.
- Let the water boil.
- While the water is boiling wash the rice and make sure it’s completely clean.
- After the water is already boiling put the rice into the boiling water and stir to make sure the rice dosen’t stick to the bottom.
- Reduce the heat if the heat was on high reduce the heat to medium.
- As the rice continues to cook make sure you at least stir about one to three times depending on how your rice is cooking.
- When you see the water in the rice is almost completely absorbed change the heat to low or even warm and put a lid over the pan.
- Check frequently, I mean as may times as you can to make sure the rice dosen’t stick.
- When the water is completely absorbed then your rice should be at least cooked. If your rice is not completely cooked, put your rice back on the stove and the heat should be on warm and then mix your rice to allow it to cook completely.
This dish is usually made for special occasion mostly weddings, birthdays e.t.c but that dosen’t mean one can’t make it when ever one wants. If one make pilau then they learn how to make the dish.

Points.
- Taking naps refreshes one’s mind
- Taking naps is natural
- Napping should be practiced
- Napping is okay
- Why Americans don’t nap
- Different views of napping is different places
Her argument is constructed with facts and her experience on napping and different views of napping in different places.
She can improve her argument by interviewing people and actually finding out how they feel and view napping. She can also state stronger facts that benefit one after taking a nap.
Yes I do agree with her because Americans never take any naps they are always thinking how they can make extra money and which country is making more money than they are. Taking naps during the day can make a huge difference because naps usually refreshes one’s mind. If people have naps then they will not have an over load in their brains since their brains will actually take a rest and relaxe. By doing that the brain usually allows the person to function better and sufficiently.

Anthropomorphism is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics and qualities to nonhuman beings, inanimate objects, or natural or supernatural phenomena. Animals, forces of nature, and unseen or unknown sources of chance are frequent subjects of anthropomorphosis.
2. The humans seem to be very merciless, evil, mean and monster looking.
4. The commentary of the parallelism in frames one and four is that in frame one we are genetically manipulating food and in the other we are using humans. Which is pretty much doing the same thing but only using different things.
5. The cartoonist is being ironic because hopefully food will never take over humans though I have watched some shows in TV saying that some day plants will take over the word and there will be no humans.
6. The tone is convincing that we are doing something wrong that needs to be re-though over and over. The text makes the whole point of view look different by showing how mean humans are and how cruel they can be.

When Woolf was a writer during the early centuries women were not well recognized as writers. Women were viewed in a strange manner and in a weird kind of way if they were writers. They had to be very careful of what they wrote and very careful not to be better than men writers so as not to make their writing seem less valuable. I think when Woolf refers to the angle, she was referring to herself but I am not sure. She says that “ The shadow of her wings fell on my page; I heard the rustling of her skirts in the room. Directly that is to say, I took my pen in my hand to review that novel by a famous man, she slipped behind me and whispered: ‘My dear, you are a young woman. You are writing about a book that has been written by a man. Be sympathetic; be tender;flatter;deceive;use all the arts and wiles of our sex. Never let anybody guess that you have a mind of your own. Above all, be pure.’ And she made as if to guide my pen. (pp. 168-170)
I think on that passage the so called “Angle” is trying to tell Woolf not to be scared and to continue being a good strong writer. She is also telling her to use her woman skills on writing and not to be afraid of anything and what maybe men might say or think about her. In todays world both women and men can write whatever they want and not care what other people might think about them. They write pouring out their heart to every one and letting them know what they want or what they think people need to know. When Woolf says that she killed the Angle I think she is trying to say that she put all her fears and anything that was holding her back away but instead be herself and write what ever she wants to write despite her sex being a woman.

3. In paragraph 5 Woolf means that when one is writing should not think about what people are going to think about her writing but write what’s in her mind and not let herself be destructed by other peoples opinions. If one worry’s about people’s view on her writing then one is not going to produce a very well written material. I think that one should not change their writing in response to what people would want to be written so as to please them but stick to her ideas.

4. When Woolf says “the description of the Angel is in the house” I think she is referring to herself as being the perfect writer in the house and trying to please other’s since she is a female writer by focusing on her great writing.
9. In paragraph 5 Woolf extends her analogy by comparing her writing to the men’s writing. She also continues further to by explaining about her writing that she had mailed and gotten a lot of many on it. She also seems scared of being a better writer than men by thinking what will men say so even though she is a great writer she has not come out of her Shell completely.
